What kinds of projects are you looking for?
I'm looking to work with brands - or individuals - who really care about bringing colour & happiness into an audience's every day life. Whether that be through beautiful illustrations on food packaging, an engaging & exciting mural in a retail space, or on billboards that stop people in their tracks. For me, the best types of projects are ones that allow people to be heard, seen or considered - especially in under-represented communities that I'm a part of. ADHD, LGBTQIA+ & female dominant projects are wonderful. Especially in industries such as fitness, beauty & music. A dream project right now would be a clothing collab celebrating one of those three communities.
What makes your work unique?
I think there's strength & sincerity to be found in my work due to the amount of love I have for people; wanting to find the best way to visually communicate with an audience whilst considering age, gender, ability & ethnicity. Combining that with my use of colour and pattern does create unique solutions that are successful, and have proved to be across advertising, branding, editorial, packaging and visual identity work.
What does your creative process look like?
For me, a clear, concise and confident brief is integral. I absolutely work best when a client is direct about project details, and has visual aids combined with aims that need to be achieved. Who is the audience? What emotion does it need to evoke? What elements - if any - need to be included? Can you reference previous pieces of mine you've enjoyed? The clearer the communication the better. Once all the vital information has been shared, my process tends to be jumping straight into sketch work - presenting multiple sketch options if requested - with a round or two of revisions, then in to final artwork with couple of revision rounds depending on what's been agreed. I primarily work in vector but can do .psd too!
