What kinds of projects are you looking for?
I love any projects where I can collaborate with the designers and other creatives involved to make something that feels more natural and impactful (and less like a start-up Mad Lib). I have a particular interest in work that supports sustainability at the product & production level, champions BIPOC- and LGBTQ-led teams, and that has a sense of humor.
What makes your work unique?
I started my career in the world of book publishing, which trained me to think about voice from a more emotional angle and helped hone my instincts for writing that feels natural, fresh, and playful. My general goal when I work is to generate something that sparks a reaction, and to write copy that I’d be sad to leave on the editing floor.
What does your creative process look like?
Copy is as much about context as anything. I like to start by getting to know the world my clients live in, what inspires and annoys them, and develop a shared language and point of view to work with. From there, it’s all about leaving room for surprises. In my case, that means exploring as many options as possible in order to hone in on copy that defines where a brand is today while leaving room for what they want to become.
